As many of you can tell from my blog, hiking is one of my biggest passions in life. The act of exploring and seeing new places just fill my heart and soul with joy. Adventures definitely come in all variations, types and places. One of the most beautiful places in the United States is Washington state. So I asked my friend Irine, from Travel with Irine to share some of her awesome Seattle hiking trails with us. Enjoy perusing these 25 amazing hikes near Seattle, Washington.

Seattle, Washington is known for its breathtaking views and scenic drives. And so, I have complied 25 amazing hikes near and around Seattle, Washington to help you plan on your next trip in the Pacific Northwest. To make it easier, I have sorted the comprehensive hiking list per region. I have also included the approximate drive time to the trailhead from downtown Seattle.
Seattle-Largest City Park (30 minutes)
1.Discovery Park.
These 523 acres of nature comprise the largest city park in Seattle. You can make your hiking trip at the discovery park as long or as short as you want it. One of my favorite trails is the Lighthouse Loop trail; a 4.5 mile hike that’s rated easy.
Snoqualmie Region-North Bend Area (30 minutes)
2. Rattlesnake Ledge. 5 mile hike and rated as moderate
3. Mailbox Peak. 10 mile hike and rated as difficult
Snoqualmie Region- Snoqualmie Pass (1 hour)
4. Melakwa Lake. 8.5 mile hike and rated as moderate
5. Snow Lake. 6.5 mile hike and rated as moderate
6. Gem Lake. 11 mile hike and rated as difficult
7. Granite Mountain. 8 mile hike and rated as hard
8. Pratt Lake. 11 mile hike and rated hard
North Cascades (1.5 hours)
9. Heather Lake. 4.5 mile hike and rated as moderate
Mount Rainer Area (2 hours)
10. Tolmie Peak Lookout-Eunice Lake. 7. 5 mile hike and it’s rated moderate
Central Cascades-Stevens Pass West (2 hours)
11. Blanca Lake. 12 Mile hike and rated difficult
North Cascade-Hwy 20 (3 hours)
12. Diablo Lake Trail. 7 mile hike and it’s rated moderate. If you are passing by, check out the Diablo Lake Overlook as it offers an amazing view.
13. Foggy Lake. This slice of paradise is beyond Gothic Basin; a 12 mile hike, rated difficult
North Cascades-Mount Baker Area (3 hours)
14. Yellow Aster Butte. 7.5 mile hike and it’s rated difficult
15. Chains Lake Loop. 6.5 mile hike and rated as moderate
16. Lake Ann. 9 mile hike and it’s rated moderate
17. Ptarmigan Ridge Trail. 9 mile hike and it’s rated moderate
17. Picture Lake. 0.5 mile hike, has ADA accessible path and it’s rated easy
Central Cascades-Leavenworth Area (3 hours)
18. Colchuck Lake. 8 mile hike and rated difficult
19. Lake Stuart. 8.7 mile hike and rated moderate
Snoqualmie Region-Salmon La Sac (3 hours)
20. Tuck and Robin Lakes.13 mile hike and it’s rated difficult
22. Lake Ingalls. 9 mile hike and it’s rated good difficult
Olympic National Park (3-4 hours)
You have the option to drive or take the ferry from Seattle or Edmonds. I typically drive on Saturday morning and take a ferry on my way back, usually Sunday evening.
23. Hoh Rain Forest- Hall of Mosses. 0.8 mile hike and rated as easy
24. Sol Duc Falls. 1.6 mile hike and rated good for all skill levels
25. Deer Lake. 8 mile hike and it’s rated moderate
