The sea lions and seals at La Jolla Cove and La Jolla Shores have taken over Seal Rock. They have also adopted a strip along the coast in this part of San Diego as their own. The Children’s Pool area have been occupied by the seals as well.
It is illegal for any official or human to scurry away or to move along the creature once they have plopped down on the shore. There are several signs posted throughout this beach or coastline warning for people to not harass the sea lions. Please keep your distance.
It is quite a remarkable thing to witness. This area of La Jolla has now become a tourist attraction to observe the seals and sea lions. La Jolla Cove is a quaint lovely beach town located on San Diego’s stunning coastline. Certain times of the year, you can see whales and watch a few surfers. You will also enjoy seeing the abundance of seagulls, pelicans, and squirrels soaking up the sun everywhere you look.
